A road trip in the deep Russia
This second edition of the workshop "In the footsteps of Aleksey Myakishev" will take place in the Vyatka region, 1000 km east of Moscow, Aleksey Myakishev's native region. By train and on the roads of deep Russia, this workshop is focused on meeting the inhabitants of a region that Aleksey knows intimately.

This workshop is an opportunity to practice humanistic photography
and discover the authentic Russia outside the tourist circuits.

Thursday, August 6th

Departure from Moscow by couchette train
(Participants will meet at Yaroslav Station in Moscow at 7 pm)

Friday, August 7th
Arrival at Kirov Station - 1/2 day in the city of Kirov
Departure for the northern part of the trip
Arrival in Slobodskoï

Saturday, sunday, monday
August 08th, 09th & 10th

Crossing the north of the Vyatka region
(Slobodskoy, Belaia Kholunitsa, Chernaïa Kholunitsa)
By a small railway line we will reach the small town Karintorf.f

Tuesday, August 11th

Departure to the south of the Vyatka region to the town of Petropavlosk.
Development of some films
(The first films made by the trainees will be developed.
The Editing session will be an opportunity for the trainees to get feedback on their shots)

Training Supervisors
Aleksey Myakishev
Professional journalist since 1991. It has been published in numerous periodicals in Russia (Nesweek, Kommersant) and Finland (Helsingin Sanomat, APU, Talouselama), etc.

Since 2012 and the publication of his first book, Aleksey Myakishev has exclusively developed an author's work in the wake of humanist photography.

Aleksey Myakishev was BERGGER and LEICA Ambassador for Russia.

Olivier Marchesi
Photographer specialized in silver-halide photography, Olivier Marchesi, member of the Hans Lucas studio, lived several years in Moscow, from 2013 to 2017.

His work on Russia has been exhibited in France and Russia.

He also leads the publisher
BERGGER editions dedicated to the publication of long-term photographic works produced on film.
